Marie Overturf
Marie Elena Overturf, 68, of Hilo died Aug. 10, 2016, at the Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hawaii, she was a homemaker and member of New Hope Christian Fellowship.
Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. Aug. 25 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for a 7 p.m. wake service. Friends may also call at 10 a.m. Aug. 26 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for an 11 a.m. service, followed by burial at the Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. The family requests casual attire and that flowers be omitted.
She is survived sons, Jay (Bridget) Overturf, Christopher (Felicidad) Overturf, both of Oregon and John Overturf of Hilo; daughters, Jacqueline (Ronald) Dejos of Kauai, Tara Overturf of Hilo; brothers, John (Lorraine) Nobriga, Frank Nobriga, Mac Leroy Nobriga, all of Hilo, Patrick (Evelyn) Nobriga of Mountain View; sisters, Elvira Okudo of Hilo, Shirley Allen of Calif., Louella (Walter) Wallace of Ewa Beach, Oahu, Anette Noclain of Glenwood; 17 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Bernard Alani Jr.
Bernard Alani Jr., 68, of Waimea died July 14, 2016, at home. Born in Waimea, he was a former truck driver for the Alaska Pipeline, and most recently was a farmer. He was also an Army veteran of the Vietnam War where he was awarded two Purple Hearts.
Friends may call at 9 a.m. Aug. 27 at Kahilu Town Hall for an 11 a.m. service. Friends may also call at noon Aug. 29 at the Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2 in Hilo for a committal service. The family requests that casual attire be worn.
He is survived by brothers, Hursley (Ramona) Alani of Pahoa, Dane Alani of Kailua-Kona; sisters, Evelyn Hegent of Pahoa, Marleen Thompson of Alaska, Jeanette Kaulukukui of Keaau; numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Pilar Atentico Asia, 90, of Honokaa died Aug. 12, 2016, at Hale Hoola Hamakua. Born Dec. 24, 1925, in Honokaa, she was retired from Mauna Kea Beach Resort and a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
Friends may call at 9 a.m. Aug. 27 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Honokaa for an 11 a.m. Mass. Urn burial at a later date. Family requests casual attire be worn and no flowers.
She is survived by sons, Felix (Marilyn) Asia Jr., Roy (Donna) Asia of Honokaa; sister, Sally Niece of Arizona; four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
